Portrait I did for one of my Simeon High School classmates Anthony Newell. The pic was based on his career playing for team Assigeco in the Italian Basketball league. He currently plays for the Canton Charge of the NBA Development League.

Rose

Englewood native, fellow Simeon grad, 6'3 200 pound lighting quick Chicago tough point guard and your 2011 NBA MVP, Derrick Martell "Pooh" Rose.
They didn't make it to the finals but the city is proud. Proud that for the first time on a Chicago sports team, the main superstar is also home grown product. The Chicago Bulls overall had a great season, not only because of this young man, but the tremendous coach of the year Tom Thibedeau in his very first year as a pro basketball head coach. The Bulls also got solid production from Luol Deng, Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer (though his playoff production dropped off)and their Bench was amongst the best in the league helping to lead the team to a league best 62-20 record and reaching the Eastern Conference finals for the first time since 1998.
